Product UI Design and Process

As the Product Designer on the team, I’m responsible for defining user experience and designing the interactions and visuals, in a close collaboration with other designers, product managers and engineers.

Project PlanNing

Meet with Product Manager and Engineering on defining the user experience and clarifying feature requirements.

Design Exploration

Explore design options and create wireframe/visual mockups. Meanwhile collaborating with content writer and engineers to clarify content and technical details. Present the design to the internal design team during the design critique. After the review, collect all feedbacks and refine the design.

Design Sign-off

Meet with Product Manager and Engineering again to present the design proposal for everyone to sign off. If the design needs more modification, the design needs to return the exploration phase and go through review/sign-off process till it is signed off by all sides.

Deliverable Production

Finalize design based on feedbacks from sign-off meeting and product pixel-perfect mockups, with interaction notes and visual specs.

Dev Support

Keep collaborating with developers after the design is delivered to help clarify design questions and make necessary design changes.

Visual Assets Creation

Besides working on product features and UI. I also create several visual assets, including research storyboard, process diagram and UI map. There materials are distributed for internal workshop and user research.
